Frequently Asked Questions

  • What problems does an ENT specialist treat?

An ENT specialist treats conditions affecting the ears, nose, throat, and related structures. If you have recurring ear infections, hearing difficulties, sinus problems, frequent throat infections, or changes in your voice, you should plan on visiting an ENT clinic or specialist.

  • When should I see an ENT specialist for sinus problems?

If your sinus is not responding to standard treatment by a regular practitioner or it becomes severe or keeps returning, you should consult an ENT specialist. Persistent symptoms can have different causes, including allergies and structural problems inside the nose.

  • Can an ENT doctor help if my hearing has reduced?

Yes. Hearing difficulties can result from earwax, infection, eardrum problems, or conditions affecting the inner ear. An examination and hearing tests can help identify the cause. Sudden hearing loss should be treated as urgent.

  • Do frequent tonsil infections mean I need surgery?

Not necessarily. Many tonsil infections can be managed without surgery. A surgical procedure is highly effective for recurrent infections particularly associated with breathing difficulties.

  • Is loud snoring something I should be worried about?

Occasional snoring is a common thing, but persistent loud snoring may sometimes be associated with sleep-related breathing problems. If you also experience breathing pauses during sleep or excessive daytime sleepiness, seek medical advice from an ENT hospital in Thrissur.

  • Does a deviated nasal septum always need to be corrected?

No. Many people have a slightly deviated septum without experiencing problems. Surgery is usually considered when it causes significant nasal blockage or other symptoms that affect daily life.

  • What should I look for when choosing an ENT hospital?

When choosing an ENT hospital in Thrissur, consider access to experienced specialists, appropriate diagnostic tests, and both medical and surgical treatment options. A clear explanation of your condition and available treatments is equally important.
